So, the only Chanel I can afford comes in cosmetic form. However, I have been a die-hard fan of the brand, nay institution, for as long as I can remember. To me, it is perfection. And hopefully one day, I will get my very own Chanel moment.
Androgynous with clean lines, Chanel is whimsical yet practical and it revolutionises fashion with every new show grand master Karl Lagerfeld puts on.
READ: Fashion we'd wear if we had lots of money
We watched the most recent Chanel prêt-à-porter Fall/Winter 2016/17 show held at Paris Fashion Week, and this is what we want:
1. Oh to have been there is my number 1 want (guess our invite got lost in the mail then ;)).
This year, everyone attending Chanel’s show got a front row seat – sorry no bragging rights, editors. Chairs were arranged in single file, and models strutted in between rows, giving everyone the best possible angle to view (and Instagram) the clothing.
2. The street style: celebrities, models, women who are wealthy beyond our wildest dreams and fashion editors from around the globe were all dressed in their Chanel best.
I mean…
3. This coat worn by Gigi Hadid will see me moving permanently to Reykjavik just to wear it every day.
4. Oh and even better (perhaps) is this couture shirt. KARL YOU GENIUS!
And for some reason Kendall Jenner modelled the ugliest outfit of the day...*evil chuckle
5. The hats and 6. boots and 7. handbags
8. Pearls were, once again, queen…
9. The makeup...
10. The threads - denim, tweed, metallics - every possible fabric had its 15 seconds of fame...
This list can go on an on. But I might just start weeping out of pure "it's too beautiful" frustration!
Head to Instagram for more beautiful images from the show.
