On Friday 1 July 2011, a day before their highly anticipated religious wedding, Prince Albert II of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock tied the knot in an unassuming civil ceremony in the small Mediterranean state.
In an unassuming, clean cut Chanel pale blue suit, the bride oozed discreet glamour.
The 3-button blazer was of course modest by traditional royal standards, but coupled with Charlene’s gorgeous French twist and quiff up-style hairdo, simple stud earrings and floaty chiffon trousers, it served up perfectly to highlight her signature relaxed, yet confident demeanour.
And THAT is why we can’t help but love the choice.
Never mind that it was an unconventional look (fans probably expected a gown rivalling the likes of Kate Middleton’s) - Charlene also managed to pull off this fairly ‘manly’ ensemble with complete femininity. BRAVO to the new Your Serene Highness!
