Model Codie Young's photo was taken off Topshop.com after she was targeted for her skeletal frame – but not before some very hurtful words were hurled her way.
"This is not the sort of thing we want to see in magazines and on the internet...For girls who see these kinds of images it can be very damaging," Helen Davis from British anorexia charity Beat told Daily Mail.
On her blog, 18-year-old Codie hit back at her critics, claiming she's naturally thin: "I am very happy with my body and how I look because its apart of who I am!... You know what some people are just naturally skinny and even if I tried to put on weight it wouldn't matter, because it doesn't matter what I eat, I don't put it on."
The controversy has, once again, highlighted the debate about getting more healthy-looking women in campaigns.
Personally, I feel really sorry for poor Codie. It looks like she got caught in the crossfire – I mean who's to say she hasn't eaten a burger in her life? Still, I think someone at Topshop should have noticed that her head is bigger than her waist in the offending photograph.
Do you think the Codie's pic could encourage young women to go anorexic?
