There will always be something useful in the attic or cellar, and just don’t get us started with the garage – if you do have a garage, half of your DIY project ingredients are right there.
1. Paint the ceiling a bold, bright colour
Painting the ceiling a bold colour draws the eyes up to the ceiling. It adds a luxurious, modern feel to any room. You can hang a beautiful chandelier or interesting lighting fixture to compliment this.
2. Faux Marble
Marble is very trendy, but also very expensive. Consider purchasing faux marble for a fraction of the price. If you are the artsy type, you can even paint it yourself.
3. Popsicle stick hanging shelf
Hanging shelves can be very expensive, especially wood ones. Instead of buying one, purchase a cheap bag of popsicle craft sticks. Glue them together (there are a bunch of tutorials, like this one, available online) in a hexagon shape then hang it on the wall.
4. Create an accent wall
An accent wall is a great way to add a more luxurious feel to your home. Take one wall and paint or wallpaper it with an interesting colour or design. You can even use chalkboard paint with chalk to create a coffee bar wall or some other interesting design. Wallpaper comes in patterns now that look like realistic tile or stone.
5. Throw Pillows
You can find cheap throw pillows, or even make your own that do not look cheap. Adding a few to your couch, bed, or even outdoor patio set will add a more luxurious, comfy feel to your home.
6. Remove the clutter. This option costs nothing
Rid your home of the junk collections with a sweeping waste clearance. Recycle and re-purpose what you can, donate unwanted and unused items, and take the waste collection that is left to the dump. By opening up the space and removing the clutter, you will change the look and feel of your home. Get a clearance company to do that as well and you will even get an eco-friendly waste disposal.
Use your imagination and all the ingredients your home has for you and you can make quite a lot of things. Just work on it and see how easy it can be.
