Painting made easy

I love browsing second-hand stores because there are always a few surprises waiting for you just around the next piece of junk - like these chairs!

Preparation

Do whatever prep is required to get the chair - or other piece of furniture - ready for painting.

You may need to do some stripping to remove layers of old paint or varnish, or if you’re lucky, all that may be required is a light sanding.

Painting

Paint the base coat colour and then use paper and painters tape to mask off the areas you want sprayed with the second colour.

GOOD TO KNOW : Don't use newspaper to mask off as the ink will damage the first coat of colour.

Make sure that the tape is secure around paper edges to avoid spraying onto the first coat of colour.

For this project, I used a few cans of Rust-Oleum 2X Painters Touch spray paint.
