How to make your bedroom more romantic

The colour scheme

Bright colours like lime green and blue don’t have the relaxing and calming properties you need for the bedroom. Rather opt for different shades of red or browns. In addition to the colour schemes, your bedding also plays an important tole in setting the mood. Less is definitely more so keep the design at a minimum.

Warm scents

Storing food and laundry in your bedroom can create a bad smell so be sure to them away. Everyone has their own preference when it comes to scent, but keep in mind that you don’t want anything that’s overpowering. Subtle scents like lavender work best for the bedroom.

Seductive snacks

A romantic night usually starts with a dinner, so do all the eating in the dining room, and keep nibbles like strawberries dipped in chocolate within easy reach. These might come in handy during foreplay!

Privacy

Being interrupted during a heated moment isn’t romantic. Depending on the type of living arrangement you have, make sure there’s no chance of someone budging in to ruin everything. Put a sign of ‘no disturbance’ on the door or just lock yourself in.

Lighting

What’s romance without candles? This is one item you cannot compromise on. With candles you’re spoilt for choice, from scented to flameless, you choose what works best for you. To avoid having to put out fires, be sure to keep the candles away from flammable objects like carpets and curtains.
