The Lash Clock by artist Bina Baitel is supposedly somewhere “in between a meditation device and a clock” according to the website.

It weirds me out a little, but maybe that’s just because I don’t have enough of an appreciation of modern art?

So, at first, it looks like it’s just static and you’re wondering how you’d actually tell time, until you realise that the fibres are actually moving. The fibres straighten up while slowly moving away from each other and then you’re able to tell the time by the gaps in the fibres. The smaller gap indicates the minutes while the larger gaps indicates the hour.

(Un)Fortunately, you can’t actually buy one of these. It’s an art piece that will be on display at the Centre d’Innovation et de design au Grand Hornu in Belgium from 22 January – 30 April 2017 as part of their “L’Eloge de l’heure” (Telling Time) exhibit, according to Gizmodo.

Oh yeah, and there’s a tie-dye version.

Would you consider having one in your house?
