Pietermaritzburg is known for its charm, dignity and its historical aspect, mainly thanks to the collection of Victorian and Edwardian buildings.

This quiet town was the birthplace of prominent South Africans, including English cricketer Kevin Pietersen and lead singer of International rock band Seether, Shaun Morgan.

The city holds many historical accolades, including having the City Hall as the largest all red-brick structure in the southern hemisphere and having The Natal Witness as the oldest continuously published newspaper in the country.

The capital of Kwazulu-Natal has a lot to offer, despite being a quaint little town and is the perfect destination for family and friends this summer.
