One of my dreams has always been to go to Paris. I've made up my mind that I want to go for the Christmas holidays. I have about R5000 in savings so far, but I'd like to know how much more I should save? How much do I need for things like a passport and visa? And what is a good amount to have for spending money? How do I go about finding about accomadation prices? Please help.

While Paris is described as the city of love, it is also a very expensive city - try and secure an early bird ticket and save, save, save for your spending money. Read the following article for tips regarding forex.

You also need to have you passport sorted before you can apply for you visa - this will cost you R400, you'll need two colour images, taken on a white background for this application. It takes about ten days before collection.

Apply for a Schengen visa at the consulate/Embassy for your first point of entry - 90 days at 60 euro or roughly R720 at R11.95/Euro. This can take anything between a week to 15 working days to complete. You might find the following links useful:
