A Darling small town

accreditation
Traditionally known for its wildflowers, Darling is fast becoming a tourist hotspot.

The Darling Stagger, a spectacular hiking trail displaying the town’s natural beauty is a big hit amongst out-of-towners seeking affordable but fun activities for the weekend.

Apart from being breathtaking, it is also the home of Evita se Perron, a place where the versatile and hilarious Pieter Dirk Uys performs as his alter ego.

And if that’s not your thing, you can dazzle yourself with the stunning scenery. Take a walk down the cobbled streets of the quaint town or stroll through the vineyards.

South Africa’s first fully fledged wind power project is also said to take place in Darling in the hopes of generating wind-powered electricity that will supply the country with 10% of its over-all energy.

But don’t be fooled by the town’s calm exterior, because from 4-7 October Darling will be rocking it out with the 49M Rocking the Daises festival. It takes place on Kloof Wine estate and will play host to some awesome local bands like Kongos and Shadow Club as well international act Bloc party.

And it’s not all about the music. You can hang out at the beach bar, go wine tasting, go crazy at the food village and even watch a short film at their custom built Cinema!

And the best part? The organisers have made sure that you can camp out in style, with luxury camping spots and even a “Daisy Den” where all the lovely ladies of Rocking the Daisies can get ready in style with hot showers, self service hair stations and super cute dressing rooms.

Now that’s just awesome. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours to avoid missing one of the hottest festivals of the year!
