Your clothing is inappropriate
You’ve remembered your shorts, a few funky tees, a sundress and your bathing costume – but, THIS isn’t enough.
What about a sun hat to guard against the sun? And a warm top and jeans – in case it gets a bit nippy? There’s nothing worse than sweltering in the heat, or freezing in the cold. When it comes to packing, make sure that you have the same amount of outfits as the days you are away, plus one (in case something happens and you need to change unexpectedly), as well as a jacket and a pair of comfortable bottoms.
You left the sunscreen at home
Soaking up the sunshine, sea breeze and outdoor tranquility are what dream vacations are made of. Until you wake up the next morning as red as a lobster, in pain and unable to get out of bed. Protect your skin, even in winter – it’s a MUST!
You came during peak-season
Public holidays, festivals and summer months are busy periods. Roads will be chaotic, beaches will be packed and restaurants are guaranteed to be bustling with people. Unless you’re patient and are prepared for the disorder, opt, instead, for a getaway on a different date.
