5 things to ALWAYS take on holiday

accreditation
No-one wants to spend their entire holiday curled up in the foetal position with a runny tummy, wishing they were back home.

Now that you’ve finally booked your trip away, make sure you have a good time by preventing any mood-killers that could ruin it.

Here's what I suggest you take with you:

Antihistamines: They’re great for everything from allergies (caused by changes in climate) and travel sickness, to unexplained skin rashes and insect bites.

Driving? Ask your pharmacist to recommend a good non-sedating variant just to be safe.

Condoms: Sexually Transmitted Infections. Enough said.

Painkillers: A tablet or effervescent pill that provides effective relief from menstrual cramps, headaches, muscle niggles and so on. Pain is the last thing you want while on vacation.

Going overseas? Find out if the country or city you're visiting allows you to bring them - it could be illegal!

Clean water:
Staying hydrated – especially if your trip involves lots of physical activity – at all times is essential.

Also, there are certain parts of the world where drinking straight from the tap is not advisable as the impurities in the water (not everyone is as fortunate as us, you know) are known to cause diarrhoea.

Sunblock: Prevent sunburn and keep your skin healthy by applying sun lotion regularly. Go for one with a high SPF and UV protector.

Have I left out anything important? What other medical supplies or essentials can you suggest?
