Johannesburg is home to many of our country’s wealthiest and most prominent individuals, businesses and institutions. When I think Jozi, I think money. From flashy hotels and top-class eateries; to a bustling social scene and cultural life, positioned, rather cunningly… between some of the grandest shopping centres and boutiques I have ever seen.
Known for the Jacaranda trees which flourish and pave the streets purple in Spring is Pretoria. Where it’s short in its financial clout, the city makes up for it in history, setting, scenery and, of course, political power. There’s the must-see Voortrekker Monument, the Union Buildings, Pretoria Forts, Freedom Park and Church Square. Enjoy nature? Then this is where you want to be!
So, let’s finally put an end to this age-old dispute… Which of the two sister cities is better, which would you more readily recommend, and why?
