Back in May last year, Dave and Pam Zaring, who tied the knot three years ago, were asked by a middle-aged “experienced” photographer if they wanted a family portrait done, reports Daily Mail.
The excited couple, their sons Cade (12) and Connor (8), and Dave’s Mom, Sharon, all drove to St Louis and paid the photographer $250 (R3 125) to take breathtaking pictures.
Eight months later the photographer contacted Pam to say the pictures were edited and ready to be collected. But when the family got their much-anticipated photographs back, they weren’t prepared for what they were about to see.
In an attempt to get rid of the shadows in the pictures, the photographer removed the family’s faces completely and replaced their eyes and teeth with something supernatural looking.
Instead of asking the photographer for a refund, a rather amused Pam decided to share the hilarious photos on Facebook for her friends to enjoy.
“Ok. This is NOT a joke. We paid a photographer, who claimed to be a professional, $250 (R3 125) for a family photoshoot,” Pam captioned her post.
“Please see these FOR REAL photos she delivered to us. She said the shadows were really bad on the beautiful, clear, sunny day and that her professor never taught her to retouch photos.
“Feel free
to share. I literally haven’t laughed this hard in YEARS! You can’t make this
stuff up . . . again, this is NOT a joke - final product.”
Pam told The Mirror that she asked the photographer for the originals and hopes to use the photos as an icebreaker in the insurance office, where both she and her husband work.
“This has been worth every dime that we spent,” she says.
The
hilarious Facebook post has been shared more than 390, 000 times with internet
users more than willing to share their views on the bizarre series of photos.
“I’m sorry you didn’t get the pics you wanted, but this is quite entertaining!” said one online user.
“This ‘photographer’ can’t be serious. She has to be joking with you . . . or is a scammer,” said another.
