Getting too comfortable
It’s only natural that after a year or two, the butterflies and excitement you had at the beginning starts to fade away. This is completely normal. This doesn’t in any way suggest that you love your partner any less. You’re just used to him being there all the time and in reality you can only get butterflies for so long.
Compromising on your own life
Once you start living with someone, almost everything you do should be considerate of the other person. You’re no longer just living as individuals but as a unit. If you don’t develop a proper strategy for your relationship to work you could end up resenting one another.
Adjusting to each other’s habits
Sometimes no matter how much you try you can’t seem to accept your man’s nasty habits and this could be the cause of many of your arguments
Not enough ‘me time’
For the introverts who enjoy and treasure time alone this is possibly the biggest problem. ‘Me time’ means different things to different people and for most they require their partners to very far from them. You could feel like you’ve lost yourself and given up your sanity all in the name of love.
Planning for the future
While young people are now slowly warming up to cohabiting the older generation feels it’s taboo. Chances are your family won’t be impressed by this decision and they’ll keep questioning you about your future plans. You don’t want to be pressured into marriage hence it’s best you discuss your intentions prior to moving in together.
Understanding your roles
In the beginning you might agree that you’re going to share equal chores or bills but in reality this isn’t the case. One ends up doing more than the other, and this person is you. You don’t want to complain because you don’t want to come as petty. If this isn’t carefully discussed it might lead to irritation and bitterness.
