They are absolutely head over heels in love with each other, despite constantly being ridiculed by people about their significant 33-year age gap.

Amanda Harper (25), and Jay Horsky (58), from California, US, say they are not at all ashamed of their relationship – even though they’ve been on the receiving end of plenty of evil stares and nasty comments and are often mistaken for father and daughter.

According to Metro News, the lovebirds met on Plenty Of Fish – a popular online dating site – after Amanda was drawn to Jay’s salt-and-pepper hair and “intense eyes”.

When the two eventually met up three years ago, sparks flew – and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

The pair have bonded over Jay’s passion for building Halloween props and even started a little haunted house business.

The 25-year-old blonde beauty has received online abuse for their three-year relationship, and has been labelled “disgusting” and a “gold digger,” but says she tries not to take note of all the cruel comments.

“We’re hoping to change people’s minds one day at a time by showing how great we are together,” Amanda told Metro News.

The Californian native even admitted that she lost a friend because of her relationship with Jay and often gets asked by people if it’s her father – but Amanda is more than prepared for that question.

“Normally people who work up the courage to ask, ‘Is he your dad?’ which is a conversation starter. I then proudly say ‘he’s my boyfriend’.”

“Even in pictures of us, you can often see people’s shocked or disapproving faces in the background, but we don’t let it get to us and still remain happy,” she says.

She admits that her father was initially against their relationship after finding out that Jay was 11 years his senior.  But once they got to know each other, they’ve become the best of pals.

Amanda says she’s head-over-heels in love with Jay and admits to never finding younger men attractive.

“He’s so smart and no matter what situation we are in he seems to know what to do better than anyone else, he just takes control of a situation.

“I only register men with grey hair, in the same way that certain people only like redheads or blondes, I love greying hair,” she says.
