‘He’s not interested in sex’

Question

I need help with understanding the situation that I am currently facing. I have been married for 2 years now. Before my hubby and I got married we didn't have any problems with our sex life but now that we are married my husband seems to be too tired to make time for it even when I take the initiative to start things.

He just tells me he is tired and sleeps it off. We can only have sex when he feels like it and that is once in a month if I am lucky.

I have told him that his actions are hurting my feeling and my confidence, then it stopped for a while but he is at it again. I'm really fed up with this and it hurts and its embarrassing to know that your spouse is rejecting you.

I sometimes end up satisfying myself and hoping he will catch me in the act and join me but it never happens.

This is hurting me so bad that I am even having stupid thoughts running through my head about finding someone who will satisfy my needs.

Please help!

Answer

Oh you poor dear!

Having an uninterested partner can be very difficult.

The trick is not to take it too personally. You need to communicate with him. Male sexuality is much more complicated than we are taught by society.

There can be many reasons for your husband's lack of interest and it may have very little to do with you. But sex takes two people and a lot of communication. You might not be handling this very well. You will have to work with him, and he might have to work with a psychologist to get to the bottom of this.

You cannot live a sexless life, but you owe it to both of you to give him a chance to work this out.

Good luck.
