"How do I keep my sex life alive?" - Jade answers reader questions

Reader:

I’m a 52-year-old man and sugar diabetic, which is under control, but my problem is I can’t have sex on my own and need to get a penis pump, which is expensive. Is there anything I can use that is cheaper?

Jade:

It’s estimated that up to 75% of men with diabetes will develop erectile dysfunction. With age, the probability increases. Diabetes can lead to the impairment of blood vessels and nerves that influence an erection and its strength (firmness). A penis pump, or vacuum constriction device, can be used to get and maintain an erection by men with erectile dysfunction. If the pump works for you, it’s a good investment. You can always consult a urologist to determine, taking your health history into account, what options are available to you.

Reader:

I went for a circumcision at a private hospital in October. Now when I have sex I don’t climax. Why?

Jade:

Congratulations on taking a step to a healthier sex approach by getting circumcised. Possible benefits of your decision include a decreased risk of penile cancer, urinary tract infections and sexually transmitted infections. While some men report decreased sensitivity after circumcision, studies conducted on male circumcision suggest that the procedure does not have any negative effects on performance, satisfaction or sensation. While it takes some men longer to reach climax, you should not not be reaching orgasm at all. Has anything else changed in your life – diet, medication? I’d suggest you consult with the doctor who performed the procedure for in-depth analysis of your situation.

Reader:

How do I keep my sex life alive? How do I make my wife squirt? And, lastly, how do I make sure that she’s only having sex with me?

Jade:

A healthy relationship outside of the bedroom can lead to a fantastic sex life. Find intimate things to do with your partner outside of sex and the sex will be that much more rewarding. Be creative, have sex outside of the bedroom and ask your partner what fantasies they’d like fulfilled, as well as living out your own sexual fantasies. As for making your wife squirt, according to biology, all women should be able to squirt if stimulated at the Skene gland. This isn’t always the case. Don’t let that become an obsession, focus instead on enjoying each other.

If I had the answer to your final question, I would be a very wealthy woman. I once read that “fidelity is a choice we make every time the opportunity presents itself, not a promise we make to each other in private”. You or I cannot control the actions of the next person. Hopefully, the sacred vows of your union are enough to keep her from extramarital sex.
