Sex Toy Test: Yooo

accreditation
First impressions
Look. I’m going to be honest. I take my sex toy fun seriously. Don’t give me vibrating duckies and shit that lights up like a disco ball. It doesn’t have to mimic the mighty peen, but I certainly don’t want it looking like something a Tellytubby pulled out its arse.
Which is exactly what I thought of the gimmickly named Yooo when I first saw its pink bubble shape a few months ago. It’s also the reason I’ve put off reviewing it.
But boy. Book? Cover? Yeah. Let’s just say I’ve been very (very, very, VERY) pleasantly surprised.

What it is
The Yooo is a multizone, external vibe that stimulates the entire genital area. Multizone means there are two or more vibe motors that buzz in different places of the toy. The Yooo basically comprises three balls or bubbles of different sizes with two motors in the two extreme balls. The larger ball in the middle holds the control pad and is perfect for gripping.

How it works
While you can use the vibe any which way that pleases you (although it’s not recommended for popping up your bottom), it’s absolutely divine resting it between your labia and then rocking the tinier ball over your clit and then the larger ball into your vaginal opening. So you get the whole clitoral pad stimulation.

What it does
So the lingo is: the two engines produce innovative ‘asynchronous vibration patterns’, which basically means there are settings that make the buzz bounce from one ball to the next or kind of pulse in a wonderful fashion.

It took me a while to figure out all the different available vibe functions. Not necessarily because it’s not intuitive; just mostly because I was too busy getting off on only two settings to give a toss about the others. Nevertheless, homework is homework, and I’m nothing if not a stickler for detail.

The Yooo has the classic vibe setting – a straightforward buzz that can be set very low to quite high. I’ve counted about 7 settings on that. The booster programme, indicated by the little flower/star push-pad, has three settings. The first is the most interesting with a sort of ‘Marco Polo’ vibration that bounces from ball to ball. The last two seem to be a variation on this with the final setting being a whole concoction of vibe, pulse and oscillation. It’s quite powerful and will leave your hand strangely numb and tingly at the same time if you hold it too long. So you can imagine what it will do to your clit.

What I thought of it
The happy
It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Fun Factory products. I love how they work the texture of their toys. The Yooo is made from 100% silicone that Fun Factory manages to balance between being bouncy and soft to the touch while still being firm enough for a good grinding.

It’s also very well designed. The Yooo’s odd Tellytubby bubble shape lends itself surprisingly well to stimulating all manner of happy places along your entire genital area. It provides point stimulation to both your clit and vaginal entrance (a very yummy spot) while massaging and vibing between your labia and clitoral pads. Just writing about it is making me horny actually. And because of the material and careful design of the balls, it means the nooks are easy to clean.

What I like about it also is the range of classic vibe settings – whether you like the low, slow grumble or full-throttle driving the Yooo will cater well. And the booster programme ‘Marco Polo’ vibe bounce is not to be sniffed at.

Then there’s the clever environmentally friendly Clink ‘n’ Charge and the fact that it’s waterproof.
And, of course, due to its very nondescript shape, it’s perfect for anyone not wanting to threaten their man person’s ego or upset small children.

The not-so happy
There’s not that much terribly upsetting about the Yooo. I think the booster programme is quite loud and the buttons quite hard to push. In fact, when I first got it I thought there was something wrong with the toy because I had to hold the buttons in longer and harder than on other toys to get it started.

Also, while I love the Click ‘n’ Charge tech, this little toy isn’t so easy to charge because it’s difficult to balance and keep the clicker in place.

But otherwise that’s about it. At the moment it’s my fave external/clit vibe and I’d happily recommend this for anyone who wants a discreet-looking (Read: doesn’t look like a vibe) external vibe or is new to sex toys.
