Like mother, like daughter they often say – and no one knows this better than this mother-daughter duo who look so alike people can’t tell them apart.

In fact Suzanne Isaac (57) and her daughter Melissa (22) were mistaken for sisters at their recent graduation ceremony - despite their 35 year age gap!

The duo, from Swansea in the UK, donned their black cap and gown and graduated at the exact same university on the same day – Melissa getting her degree in English Language and Suzanne in psychology and sociology. In fact Suzanne started studying part-time when Melissa was 16.

While Suzanne says she’s “very flattered” by the comparison she’s unsure what her daughter thinks.  But Melissa has only praise for her mom. “She’s amazing for her age. No one ever believes she’s quite as old as she is.”

Funnily enough they had absolutely no idea they’d both actually be graduating on the same day. “It was a bit weird,” Melissa admits, “but it was fabulous and we both thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.”

They were joined by Suzanne’s mom and Melissa’s grandmother, Joyce Hughes.
