Make your opinion count

Hi everyone,

It’s Women’s Month, and that means it’s time for our annual Female Nation Survey. We are inviting women from all across the country to participate!

If you are over the age of 18 and identify as a woman, we want you to make your voice heard. Too often women are underrepresented and silenced – especially when it comes to our experience of the world and our day to day lives.

This deeply interesting, annual survey delves into a range of topics that affect us, including relationships, politics, sex, love, family, child rearing, work, money, crime and happiness.

The findings of 2013 were fascinating and they included the following:

•    Almost one in three women has had an affair – and your chance of having one increases with having children.

•    62% of women felt that they are limited in their careers, which is sad since there was a huge correlation between happiness and fulfilling careers.

•    One in five women admitted to having a secret cash stash that their partners knew nothing about.

•    Over half contribute most to the household income and of these main breadwinners, 61% are also the main caregivers.

•    Women who spend more on beauty products are generally happier than their counterparts.

•    66% of widowed women never have sex.

To get as accurate a reflection for this year, we invite you to take part. The survey takes about ten minutes to complete, it’s fun, and the findings are always fascinating.

And if you need any more encouragement, there is also R3000 prize money up for grabs and a selection of R500 shopping vouchers that you can win just by taking part.

So let’s all share our thoughts, and see where we stand in relation to other SA women.

In the mean time, tell us what you’re planning to do on Women’s Day (so bleak that we’re not getting a day off work!) and you can win one of our brand new, gorgeous Women24 tees.
