Celebs who took their wives’ last names

It’s interesting to see how times have changed, especially when it comes to marriage.

Nowadays, the tradition of women taking  their husband’s surname is not as much of a big deal. Funny enough it’s now  the other way around.

John Lennon

The late Beatle took his second wife’s, Yoko Ono, last name.

When asked about it he said: "Yoko changed her name for me, I've changed mine for her. One for both, both for each other. She has a ring, I have a ring. It gives us nine 'O's between us, which is good luck. Ten would not be good luck."

Jay-Z

Who would have thought that Mr. Carter would choose to be a Knowles. Queen Bey must’ve gotten her way here, because the rappers name is now legally Shawn Knowles-Carter. But this is apparently because Bey’s parents didn’t have any sons to pass the surname onto.

Jay Mohr

Born Jon Ferguson Mohr, Jay gave his wife Nikki Cox an unusual two-year anniversary present by adding her surname into his name and legally becoming Jon Ferguson Cox.

Jack White

The singer/song writer is known by his ex- wife Meg’s surname, but his original name is Jack Gillis. I think Jack White has a good ring to it.

Antonio Villaraigosa

The Los Angeles mayor went the extra mile and combined both his and his wife’s surnames to create a new one. Raigosa + Antonio Villar= Villaraigosa . How creative.

I think our men could take some notes from theses stars, I definitely wouldn’t mind coming up with my very own surname.
