Judge Patricia Schnegg told Brown at a recent hearing that of the thousands of people who come before her on probation, "no one has done a better or more consistent job than you have, and I really want to commend you for taking responsibility and for actually working diligently to complete all the things the court has required of you."
Nice.
Schnegg also revealed that Brown had just seven more sessions of domestic violence counseling left, and said that his 581 hours of community service thus far was "very commendable."
So now we laud beaters, eh?
Brown pleaded guilty to attacking former girlfriend Rihanna during an argument in early 2009 and was sentenced to five years probation, a year-long domestic violence programme and 180 days of community service.
While we’re happy that he’s doing well, we don’t think it’s time to be popping the champagne. Good conduct and an apology doesn’t guarantee that he won’t do it again.
Or does it? What do you think?
Is it time for Rihanna – and us – to forgive and forget?
