Yip, it's official. Kim Kardashian and her husband of 72 days, Kris Humphries are over!
It was the wedding event of the year (after the Royal Wedding of course!) costing millions and earning the reality slash porn star over 17 million dollars and it's over after only two short months.
Kim confirmed the news in a statement on E!: "I hope everyone understands this was not an easy decision, I had hoped this marriage was forever, but sometimes things don't work out as planned. We remain friends and wish each other the best."
The cause for the split has been cited as "irreconcilable differences". Ryan Seacrest, who produces her show spoke out "I've spoken to her briefly and she says she's sad and got caught up in all that was going on."
It seems that Kim's husband Kris was shocked that he was given his marching orders!
Kris released a statement: "I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce."
The basketball player also revealed he won't give up on his marriage that easily, saying: "I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents, and I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
This is bound to get interesting...
Do you think Kim's whole marriage was a big publicity stunt?
