Kelly has been plagued by death threats and cyber bullying after insinuating that Lady Gaga’s recent weight gain might be due to pregnancy. She told told Fabulous eMagazine: “I have no filter. I say what I think and that’s it. I actually think she’s a good singer but she has the worst fans in the world and you have a responsibility to stop that. I think you do anyway.”
The daughter of rocker Ozzy Osbourne and former X-factor UK judge Sharon is obviously hurt by the various tweets and blog posts dedicated to humiliating her. “I’m the thinnest I’ve ever been and the healthiest I’ve ever been. The totally insane thing is that I’m a UK size four to six and people still say I’m fat. I get called fat all the time. A big fat whore. Lady Gaga’s fans are the worst. They’ve said I should kill myself, that they hope I get raped. I mean it’s crazy but I’ve had this all my life and I just try and ignore it.”
News of her ‘little monsters’ bullying Kelly must have reached Gaga’s ears because the Born This Way singer wrote an open letter to Kelly acknowledging her fan’s behaviour, but criticising Kelly for her TV work. “Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another. “Appearance” is the most used reason for bullying in the world. Your show breeds negativity, and over the years has even become comedic in nature,” said the Mother Monster.
