Elizabeth Taylor, aged 79, passed away early this morning in Los Angeles.
Her publicist, Sally Morrison confirmed the sad news: "She was surrounded by her children – Michael Wilding, Christopher Wilding, Liza Todd and Maria Burton."
The violet-eyed actress suffered from heart problems and was taken to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles for symptoms caused by congestive heart failure, and she "peacefully died there," said Morrison.
"Though she had recently suffered a number of complications, her condition had stabilized and it was hoped that she would be able to return home. Sadly, this was not to be."
Elizabeth was a screen legend starting her career as a child star in 1942. She then blossomed into one of the most coveted woman in the world, and went on to become the first actress to ever earn $1 million for a role!
Elizabeth was also known for marrying a whopping 8 times in her life and her work as an Aids research campaigner will forever be remembered...
