Poor Suri.
A recent article in People magazine cites Katie's fierce independence as the chief factor behind their woes:
"Tom has pulled back and grown distant since Katie refused his demand to get pregnant earlier this year. He doesn't know how to handle her independence," revealed a source.
So, what's the deal? Is this the beginning of the end for Hollywood's favourite couple, or do their adoring fans having nothing to worry about?
Let's take a look and see what the stars have to say...
Katie, the carefree Sagittarian
She may be 16 years his junior, but youthful Katie has her sharp intuition to guide her.
Born under the playful Sagittarian sign, Katie is lively, active and loads of fun to be around. Her charming, spirited and highly adventurous nature swept the otherwise sullen Tom right off his feet.
On June 17th 2005, Tom popped the inevitable question. After his romantic gesture atop the Eiffel Tower, the Mission Impossible star announced to the world just how lucky he is: "Today is a magnificent day for me. I'm engaged to a magnificent woman!"
But, alas, it seems that 4 years' down the line and a beautiful baby girl later, Katie's free-spirit has finally got the better of them.
Is there a way out this mess? Does Tom have it in him to loosen his reins? Let's take a look...
Tom, the domineering Cancerian
Before we go off on a rant, bad-mouthing the superstar, it's important that we're aware of his better traits.
Essentially, Tom is a family man. Everything he does, both physically and emotionally, is done for the benefit of those he loves. As a Cancerian, he's an excellent father who will play with his kids for hours on end.
And although he comes across as moody or temperamental, it's only ever because he worries all of the time.
His bad side? Yes people, he has one. Cancerian men are extremely domineering and the fact that they're completely resistant to change, is rather annoying.
If things are to remain strong between him and his wife, then Tom will have to give up on the idea of Katie being the 'perfect' housewife.
Petra du Preez says:
Sensitive Cancer provides you with a cosy home, but suffocates you with too much love and is far too touchy for your blunt approach.
