Free the nipple! Scout Willis thinks the stigma should end.

Bruce Willis's daughter is furious with Instagram and she’s quite keen to make sure everyone knows it.

According to Buzzfeed, Scout Willis was distraught to discover her entire Instagram account had been shut down because it contained images of her nipples.

At first, all she wanted was her photos back, but this soon developed into a protest that questions the very reasons why Instagram believes nipples (specifically female nipples) should not be allowed to be displayed in public places ever.

It's well known that Instagram is one of many social networks that lose their minds if the dreaded female nipple makes its appearance.

The idea is that female nipples, which exist to help mothers feed their babies, are not family-friendly.

Even pictures of breast-feeding mothers, like this one, are considered too raunchy for Instagram.

Is considered perfectly family-friendly.

One of Scout's moves was to post images to Twitter pointing out how nonsensical and hypocritical Twitter's policies are:

A closer look at that picture that is considered family-friendly enough for Instagram:

Another one was to have photos of herself taken walking around New York topless, (where it is legal for women to expose their nipples) buying flowers, to post onto twitter.

Meanwhile, Instagram is finding itself flooded with images tagged #FreeTheNipple:

And the dress Rihanna now infamously chose to wear at the CDFA Awards has, of course, only helped matters:

So, will the female nipple ever be free to roam on Instagram without fear? We certainly hope so.
