We can all get stuck in the same old beauty groove but there really is no excuse with exciting new make-up trends emerging every week. We spoke to international make-up artist and founder of WOW Beauty, Denise Rabor, for her take on the best of the new beauty trends.
Bronzed, polished, dewy skin
To perfect this look, ensure your skin is in good condition well cleansed and moisturised. This look is very minimal and is perfect for the lighter months. All you need is a bronzer you can sweep all over your skin and a highlighter to finish the look and give you that radiant glow!
EyelinerCat eyeliner has a popular trend for years, ..but while liner will still be in, it will be subtler than previous years. Liner will be smoked out, which can be done with a small angled brush to create a more smoky, softer look. Eyeliner looks great with a minimal face or with a statement lip. And you don't have to just stick to black; as blues and browns are among the other shades popular for 2017.
EyebrowsThe eyebrow trend is here to stay. Eyebrows are so important as they can transform every face shape. To keep your brows in shape, brush them up and out with a spoolie (like a mascara wand) so you can see loose strands that need to be removed.
When filling in your brows, whether you use a powder, pencil or gel, always use short, light strokes to keep your eyebrows looking as natural as possible. Begin under your natural arch and thicken the brow slightly, then continue with the rest of your eyebrow filling in any gaps or sparse areas.
Try not to fill in the head of the brow as this stops the eyebrows from looking natural. For a more defined, dramatic eyebrow, extend the tail of the brow. Finish off by using the spoolie again to brush through your brows and blend everything together or, alternatively, use a clear brow gel.
Bright coloured eye shadow
Get those bright coloured eye shadows out as pinks and oranges are set to be the biggest colours for your eyes. Think coral, sunset orange, candy floss and fuchsia - the brighter the better!” she urges. Try MAC for eye-popping palettes while Urban Decay Electric Pressed Pigment Palette is packed with bold shadows.
Glossy lidsGlossy lids have been seen all over the catwalk shows recently, and it’s a super easy look to create at home. “Use black eye pencil over the lids then top with a clear gloss or Vaseline to get the look as seen on Balmain.
