Are you one of those who’ve been engaged a lot? Move in and out with almost all your partners? Pump the breaks and take things easy. Author of Dating decisions Samantha Joel says these are some the things to avoid during the early stages of your relationship.
Too quick to say he’s the one
2 weeks into the relationship and you’re already telling your friends that he’s the man of your dreams. This is the time to enjoy the honeymoon phase before you get exposed to the real world.
Too quick to move in
For all you know, the man might be a serial killer and you just move in without knowing a single thing about them. You’ve moved in with almost if not all your ex’s and it never ends well.
You’ve been engaged for more than once
As much as you’re quick to move in, you’re also quick to accept any marriage proposal that comes your way. Avoid getting engaged for the theatrics of it but have an actual intention of spending the rest of your life with this guy.
Jump into meeting the family
Work on strengthening the relationship first before jumping into meeting the parents or introducing him to your kid.
Have a joint account
This is a total no-no it can turn out ugly. Avoid rushing into combining your coins during the early stages of your relationship because you might loose it all.
‘I love you’
… too soon maybe? Say these three words unless you really feel this way, not 2 weeks into the relationship.
