There’s a sense of a love/hate NomaRussia gets from fans. How do you find the balance with the character?

It’s about bringing that human element to the character. In the portrayal, I try to remind people that she is just a mere mortal. As much as she thinks she’s powerful, she doesn’t have supernatural powers. It’s all in her head – she thinks she can get away with all the evil she does with her cousin.

Have you had any odd experiences from fans as a result of NomaRussia?

Nothing strange has happened really – there’s been no slapping in malls or weird things like that. People have just come up to me to say how much they love the character. The support has just been great.

Who came up with the eye make-up and what do you love most about the character?

I love that she’s always on her toes, coming up with a plan. There’s never a dull moment in her life. The make-up was the idea of the make-up artist and Ferguson Films, and I loved it of course!

What do you think of Igazi and the witchcraft that it speaks of? Do you believe in sorcery?

It depends what mood I am in and what is happening at that particular moment, then I will make a decision. Do I think what’s happening with the emails regarding the Guptas is witchcraft? I still have to decide on that – I haven’t decided what mood I am in.

You’re also on e.tv’s Harvest as Clementine, who runs a marijuana farm with her husband. When it comes to the legalization of weed in South Africa, what are your thoughts?

Cannabis has medicinal purposes and it can help relief people in a lot pain, especially cancer patients. It can be controlled like they do in a country like the Netherlands.

Will we hear you on radio again or you’re focusing on acting now?

I don’t know hey. We just never know with this industry. Things happen just happen. One never can speak with certainty.
