Aura cleansing

Did you know that your body is surrounded by a metre deep of energy, an aura in a rainbow of colours that is unique to every individual? It contains all the information about you, including your health and emotional state. When your aura accumulates negative energy, through ill health or unhappiness, your body and mind become increasingly sickly.

Hah! I thought to myself, perhaps this is my problem- a dirty aura. I went on to read that once your aura is cleansed, health, love, money and happiness flow into your life. Ok, so I know this sounds rather kooky to those of us not completely comfortable with all this supernatural mumbo jumbo. But I thought I'd give it a whirl and headed off to see Kumi - I was impressed with his serene presence and clear eyes.

There was not a wrinkle in sight despite his grey streaked hair. So there I was trying to get a handle on this long- haired man in a yellow tunic sitting cross- legged on the floor. I was also battling to concentrate, as the incense and candle- smoke kept catching at the back of my throat, sending me into a coughing fit. I can't pretend I wasn't a tad apprehensive.

We started off with a light aura reading, which I can't say I identified that closely with. Too lazy to give too many personal clues away, I left him fumbling around in the dark a bit. He did say that there was a lot of energy blocked around my neck and shoulders. (Well, he did know I was a journalist and therefore spent hours everyday sitting at my computer.) And he said my aura was yellow, which meant I worry too much. (Actually I swallow too much Prozac to fret and am emotionally too lazy to get uptight about life.) But I like the part where he told me I'm a caregiver with potential for healing, and described my love and commitment to friends and family, and my desire to set out on a spiritual journey of self- discovery.

His mention of me using light- hearted, non- stop verbiage as a shield to prevent people from getting too close was fairly perceptive. (Yes, I was babbling on a bit- as usual- but he was just sitting there quietly looking at me, with long pauses between observations, and this was making me uncomfortable.)

Moving onto the cleansing, Kumi explained how the aura can become weaker through day-to-day interactions with others and said this can lead to low energy levels, fatigue, irritability and even physical disorders. I lay on the table fully clothed as Kumi used his hands to remove the blocks, acting as a neutral channel to direct universal energy to the recipient.

This energy is absorbed to areas where it is most needed to balance and energise certain spinning wheels of energy. There is no physical contact with the body, yet I felt air moving around me, and a warm tingling sensation first behind my eyes, then at my temples and into my solar plexus as he moved his hands up and down through the blanket of energy surrounding my body.

It took just a few minutes. When I was asked to open my eyes, I felt like I'd been in a deep sleep, deeply relaxed and heavy limbed. By the time I'd said goodbye and made for the door, energy was pouring back into my body, and I bounded out feeling great.

As I left, Kumi did mentions that I might feel a bit under the weather the next day. Well, that was the understatement of the year! Two days later I was flat n my back in bed with bronchitis and a lung infection. Presumably, it means that the treatment worked extraspecially well, so I'm a convert, darlings, and I'm definitely going back very soon.
