Breast Cancer: Who's most at risk

accreditation
The good news, though, is that if detected early, breast cancer can be successfully treated. High-risk women are those who:
  • Are aged over 40.
  • Have a history of breast cancer in their family.
  • Started menstruating early.
  • Have children after 30, or not at all.
  • Drink more than two glasses of alcohol per day.

Recovery after breast cancer surgery involves both physical and emotional healing. For women who've undergone mastectomy (removal of one or both breasts), a set of exercises has been developed by Miranda White, a Canadian fitness instructor, to help relieve post-surgery discomfort and immobility problems.
