These messages are slowly but surely making its wayto the surface. We’ve recently done stories about a host of women who’ve decided enough is enough.
We’ve had Jessamyn Stanley, who has shown us that a yoga body can be so much more. And Rupi Kaur, who showed us periods were nothing to be ashamed of. Women all over the world are reclaiming the concept of a bikini body while others are freeing the nipple and rocking the crop top, no matter their size.
So, it’s wonderful when traditional media makes the brave, but responsible decision to combat aspirational beauty ideas.
The latest mag that has won our admiration for taking a step in the right direction is U.S mag, Women’s Running. Since featuring plus-sized model and avid runner, Erika Schenk, on their cover, they have made headlines (and history).

According to Popsugar, Erika told Women’s Running that women of all sizes deserve to be praised for good health and deserve a place in mainstream media.
