In May this year Cricket South Africa announced the 15-women South African Women’s Momentum Proteas squad. The sportswomen are currently representing South Africa in the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup that is taking place in England until 23 July.
And they haven't been disappointing...
And again...
Interestingly, former English professional cricketer, Charlotte Edwards told The Independent last month that "women's cricket is in a better place than ever".
What’s even more awe-inspiring is that, apart from being outstanding sports players, they’re also rising as role models, national heroes and inspirational sporting champions.

The very first television commercial for the Momentum Proteas has launched and using the hashtag #alwaysrising, it celebrates every young girl who shares a love for cricket.
"It's something we love to do, even though some people say it's not for us. And that doesn't make it easy, but we do it anyway," says a little girl in the commercial.
The South African girls hail from all walks of life and are determined to play the sport they love. The commercial’s underlying message is that anyone, regardless of age or gender, can do anything and be anything, with the Proteas team testament to that.
Just like the team, these young girls are #alwaysrising.
The Proteas are no doubt on fire and making us enormously proud. Go get ‘em, ladies: Win or lose, our support will last forever!
