Curvy swimsuit models prove we don't need a thigh gap

accreditation

These days the desire for slim thighs is so strong and women are so obsessed with getting a “thigh gap”, that it's almost become a status symbol.

Most women want it because it's so glamourised on social media. And many don’t even care whether they have to resort to dangerous lengths to get it.

Swimsuits For All, a leading online swimsuit retail store, recently launched a campaign aimed at encouraging women all over the world to embrace and celebrate their bodies.

The campaign is titled “Don’t mind the gap” and is a response to social media’s obsession with the thigh gap.

The campaign features 15 models including Ashley Graham, Denise Bidot Jordyn Woods (Kylie Jenner's model bff) and Iskra Lawrence proudly showing off their thighs and butts in a series of sexy images.

It also encourages women everywhere to upload their swimsuit images with the hashtags #dontmindthegap and #mybeachbody. Swimsuit For All says its goal is to achieve 10 000 shares of women proudly showing off their curves and celebrating their uniqueness.

Too often are women’s bodies objectified and told to be improved instead of seeing the beauty in the diversity of our bodies.

Here’s the truth: we all have different body types, some girls naturally have a thigh gap and some don’t. Whether you have one or not, you should be proud of it and accept it the way it is. The amount of space between your thighs shouldn’t be the definition of your sex appeal.
