A new crowdfunding platform called Different.org is running a campaign called #WhatIf. The campaign rewards physical exercise by making monetary allocations towards five prominent local charities on your behalf. All you need to do is register as an activist on the Different.org webpage and R100 will instantly be sent to a charity organisation of your choice. You can then log a run or ride, with the potential of getting up to R800 allocated to your chosen organisation. The money comes from insurance company Different Life.

“Activists have the option of participating in various #WhatIf challenges where they run, ride or swim preset distances, all the while having the option of tracking their activity via the Strava app. In so doing, they know they are directly impacting an organisation they care about,” says the organisation’s press release. The not-for-profit participants are HospiceWits, Cotlands, Wildlands Conservation Trust, Rhiza Babuyile and Rays of Hope.
