Two beautiful plus-size models and influencers are making waves in the body positivity sphere with their latest post.

Diana Sirokai recently posted a picture on Instagram with a fellow plus-size influencer, Callie Thorpe, which show them radically photoshopped on the snap. She then urged her followers to swipe to the next photo to see how the original picture really looked.

It came as quite a shock for Diana’s 500 000 Instagram followers to see the heavily photoshopped image, as the two models regularly speak out and advocate against prescriptive societal beauty standards.

But Diana, who’s also a fashion designer, explained in her post that she, in fact, had asked photographer Karina Poltavstev to photoshop the image to prove a much-needed point.

“We have asked our photographer to use photoshop on us,” Diana wrote on her post.

Diana wanted to prove that magazines, and the media industry in general, usually take editing to a different level – often leaving celebrities looking totally unrecognisable.

“Models and celebrities don’t even look like themselves. We live in such a fake world – it’s time to bring real back,” she wrote.

Callie and Diana hope to encourage women to be comfortable in their own skin and not to conform to beauty ideals.

“We want to show women that it's okay to look 'normal', to have cellulite, stretch marks, and tummies that aren't flat and toned,” Callie wrote on Instagram.

And of course, their social media followers absolutely loved the message the gorgeous influencers were trying to get across.

“I love this so much, thank you for sharing both sides of the media portrayal and the beautiful reality!” says one Instagram user.

“So much respect for both of you, you both are beautiful in every way,” says another.
