Dear Body,
I am aware that our relationship is not something that either of us can be proud of, but I’d really like for that to change. Thing is, I love you and I am honestly grateful to have you in my life.
Shocked? I know. You’re probably wondering how I’m able to say these things after all the pain and suffering I put you through…
*Bear with me. Please.
I berated you, I compared you, and I judged you. I mistreated you, my friend, and for that I am unbelievably sorry.
I owe my entire being to you and it’s time for me to come clean and express my gratitude to you.
This letter serves not only as a plea for forgiveness, but also as a declaration of how appreciative I am of you and all the miracles you’ve bestowed upon me.
*Bear with me. Please.
Instead of criticising you for what you are not, I want to worship you for what you are and for what you have given me.
I thank you for granting me with good health and on the rare occasion that I am sick, for healing me so quickly. I am grateful for the abundance of energy you give me to see each and every day through. You’re strong and adaptable; I am forever indebted to you.
I love what you’ve done for my hair, making it both shiny and manageable. I appreciate my eyesight and the fact that you’ve blessed me with great legs and a curvy physique.
Thank you, also, for granting me with a face that my boyfriend finds attractive. For a mouth that he loves to kiss and for skin that he loves to touch.
Now that I think about it, I am actually very lucky to have a body like you.
I am pleased that you make me look good when I dance, and how well you adapt to silver makeup and too tight clothing. You never seem to complain and I love you even more for that.
So here’s to new beginnings... I’m ready to respect and adore you, dear body, like never before.
Love - handles and all,
Meagan x
