South Africa’s biggest English magazine’s cover this week features Kate Middleton and Kim Kardashian – one in red and one in green – for juxtaposition I guess, with the headline:
Battle of the Bumps: Kate the waif vs. Kim the whale
On Kate’s side they ask “Too thin?” and on Kim’s side they ask “Too fat?” casually body-shaming both in one fell swoop.
Besides, comparing Kate and Kim’s bodies isn’t just childish and idiotic, but dangerous to girls everywhere.
They have very different body types and to suggest there is some ideal middle is stupid and small-minded.What makes this so super-duperly extra uncool is the fact that both women are pregnant.
They are busy BUILDING HUMAN BEINGS for crying in a bucket! What their bodies look like while they're doing it has NOTHING to do with you or YOU.
And newsflash: You just don’t call a pregnant woman a whale. Seriously, guys. WTF?
I think YOU needs to offer a formal apology to everyone they’ve offended. Starting here.
