Suffer from hypothyroidism? You can lose the weight

And it seems that this condition is getting more and more prevalent all over the world with no age group being spared from it.

As of this very moment I can say that there are about 29 million people all over the United States that have been told by their doctor that they they  have hypothyroidism.

But more shocking than this is the fact that there are even more people out there who have yet to be told that they have the disease and therefore are living their lives without any sort of treatment.

On top of this fact is the reality that there are many, many doctors out there that are reporting a lot more people are being diagnosed with a condition known as subclinical hypothyroidism.

This condition will not actually affect your thyroid in anyway but regardless you’ll still experience many if not all the symptoms of hypothyroidism.

Most of the time people get this disease because of poor nutrition and if they simply improve their diet they would be able to totally change their situation for the better.

The whole reason that an individual will struggle to lose weight in the first place when they have hypothyroidism is because they will have thyroid glands that are not working as they should be working.

What I mean by this is that they will not be producing enough of the thyroid hormones (T4 and T3) which are absolutely essential because they are what maintain your rate of metabolism.

So if you don’t have enough of these hormones in your body then you’re going to have a slower metabolism which will of course mean you will burn far less calories over the course of a day.

This is the precise reason why people who are suffering from hypothyroidism find it so difficult to lose weight.

However you need not worry because if you follow the tips that I share below then you’ll be able to lose all the weight you want in no time at all!

Tip 1: Ensure You Get a Fully Qualified Doctor To Check You Over and Diagnose You

If you really and truly want to not only lose weight but overcome hypothyroidism for good then you’re going to have to make sure that you go visit your doctor to get the proper diagnosis and treatment that you need!

It’s the essential first step that will help you get your health back in order!

In order for your doctor to diagnose you they will give you a very, very simple blood test which will basically measure two things. The first being exactly how much thyroid stimulating hormone you have and the second is exactly how much T3 and T4 you have.

If the results come back to show that you have very high levels of TSH and very low levels of T3 and T4 then it’s more than likely that you do indeed actually suffer from hypothyroidism.

Once it becomes official, the chances are that your doctor is more than likely going to give you medication that goes by the name of levothyroxine.

This hormone is basically a synthetic form of T4 which will help you to get your thyroid hormones back to the normal level.

Tip 2: Start Consuming Meals That Contain a Good Amount of Protein and Vegetables

Making sure that you consume healthy and nutritious meals is what will help you to shed all the excess fat that’s on your body right now.

You need to make sure that you are getting a good amount of protein, carbs and fats with every meal that you make.

However when your goal is to lose weight, the most important thing you need to look out for is protein. The reason being it is not only the most satiating of all the macronutrients but it will also help to preserve all that metabolism boosting muscle mass.

Tip 3: Start To Eat a Lot More Foods Rich in Fiber and Totally Avoid Eating Foods High in Sugars and Carbs

You must totally avoid consuming processed junk foods from now on, especially if you want to lose weight. Shedding fat is hard enough when you have an underactive thyroid but it will be downright impossible if you eat junk foods. Instead you should focus on eating foods that are rich in fiber.

The good thing about foods that are rich in fiber is that they will help you to avoid getting chronic constipation which is extremely common among people who have hypothyroidism!

Another good thing about fiber is that it also helps to keep your hunger satisfied which is very important when you’re trying to lose weight.

Tip 4: Make Sure You Exercise As Often As You Possibly Can

The good news is that even if you implement a few minutes of exercise a day it will be more than enough to help boost up your metabolism for the better.

So next time you have the option of taking the stairs or taking the lift be sure to take the stairs because it will help you get that much closer to getting into the best shape of your life.

To really get the maximum benefit and results you are going to want to implement some sort of weight training program.

The reason being is that this will help you build up a lot more muscle mass which will in turn boost up your metabolic rate which of course will get you one step closer to your goal of getting into amazing shape.

Always remember that if you want to get results then you’re going to have to remain consistent with the whole process!

Nothing on this whole planet can stop you from getting into shape and overcoming hypothyroidism as long as you’re prepared to put the tips that I’ve shared in this article into action.

Just remain positive and believe me, you won’t be far from getting into the best health of your life!
