Here’s how: 

Knock back your breakfast
Start your busy day with a healthy smoothie: All it takes is a combination of low-fat/non-fat yogurt, berries, some fruit juice and perhaps a banana, tossed into a blender… and presto! Spruce up your shake by adding ice cubes and powdered bran for a satisfying meal that will rev up your metabolism and keep you satiated for hours.

Snack attack
Do you spend a chunk of your working day stuck behind your car’s steering wheel? That’s no reason to starve! Keep your tummy happy and your energy elevated by stashing nutritious snacks in your cubby hole.

Not much of a dried-fruit fan? Try these other, equally wholesome snacks that need little or no preparation at all!

Go vegetarian
While you may not want to make this a standard occurrence, the odd vegetable-only dish is by far the quickest healthy ensemble to prepare. Toss together a few stalks of broccoli and cauliflower (the frozen kind is just as good), cherry tomatoes, a cup of sliced mushrooms, baby carrots, add some garlic and seasoning, and microwave for 5 or so minutes. For added protein and carbs, throw in some beans or lentils.

Salad to-go
Because life sometimes (or most times) gets the better of our days, grabbing a meal on the run can often be our only option. No need to feel guilty. Skip the greasy fries and opt for a salad dressed in olive oil and balsamic vinegar instead. If you’re making it yourself, crank up the nutritional value by adding nuts, tinned fish, beans and lentils.
