These are 5 of the least stressful jobs

We all experience work stress at some time or other, but some jobs are way more stressful than others. According to BusinessNewsDaily the most stressful jobs are those of enlisted military personnel, firefighters, airline pilots, police officers and event coordinators. Now THAT we can believe.

Career Cast considered 11 factors (like travel, risk of death or grievous injury, career growth potential, environmental factors, deadlines, etc.) that tend to evoke a lot of stress in the workplace. According to this measure, they have worked out what the least stressful jobs are.

Here they are, in order:

1. Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.

What they do:  Diagnostic Medical Sonographers, also known as ultrasound technicians, are responsible for conducting ultrasound images in order to examine internal body tissues and organs.

2. Compliance Officer

What they do: The role of a compliance officer is to ensure that company policy and regulations are upheld and followed in accordance with its policies.

3. Hair Stylist

What they do: Come on, you know what they do. (Although I would always have thought cutting and styling people's hair would be very stressful!)

4. Audiologist

What they do: An audiologist is someone who specialises in identifying and determine the causes of hearing damage. 

5. University Professor (tenured)

In South Africa, the picture looks slightly different. According to Salary explorer, the average stress index of all jobs is currently measured at 2.32. With a rating from 1 to 5, with 1 being the worst and 5 being the best, here are the jobs that are least stressful.

1. Chemist (index rating of 3.2)

2.  Business Development manager (2.86)

3. Human resources assistant manager (2.86)

4. Project planner (2.83)

5. Communications officer (2.8)
