Cover Letter Writing Tips

accreditation

Do not fill your covering letter with unnecessary detail that is contained in your CV. Instead, make sure that it is original and eye-catching.

You could prepare the letter along the following lines:

Dear xxxxxx

APPLICATION FOR EMPLOYMENT – (put the position in here) (Put the reference, if any here)

I refer to the above and attach the completed Job Application, together with my Curriculum Vitae and the xxxxxxxxxx (if any other documentation is requested, you will refer to it here) for your perusal, information and kind consideration.

Here, you very briefly sketch the specific aspects in which the employer will be interested, – your qualifications, experience, special skills, etc.

My qualifications, previous experience and present employment have given me the necessary experience in the implementation and application of the practical and administrative aspects of xxxxxxxxxx, coupled with my experience of the systems, policies and procedures of xxxxxxxxxxx (adjust this wording according to your specific needs).

I trust that the attached documentation and background information will be sufficient for your needs and requirements. I will be happy to provide you with any further information and/or documentation, if required and to make myself available for any interviews for this position.

Yours sincerely,

(Your name goes here)
