This is bad news for everyone with a fear of snakes, but experts warn that the severe heat will make this reptile more visible as it seeks shelter where people live.

Snake catcher Eduanne Niemand from Boland, in the Western Cape, can testify to this. Whereas last season he was called out to catch about 1 000 snakes, it seems as if his record could be broken this year.
