We’ve cried, laughed and celebrated with US singer and actress Britney Spears, as she bravely fought her conservatorship, which ended almost two years ago in November 2021.

Since then, we have seen the celebrity go through trials and tribulations, and even tie the knot with fellow actor Sam Asghari.

Unfortunately for Spears, the end of her conservatorship was only a fleeting victory, as her problems seem to have become worse since the end of 2021.

Asghari and Spears are making global headlines amid rumours of their split. The rumours surrounding the devastating split began circulating the internet last week, as sources reported that Asghari had moved out of their marital home in Calabasas, California. US news publication TMZ was the first to report the news and stated that the split came after a blowout argument that involved rumours that Spears was allegedly cheating.

A close source to both parties told Entertainment Tonight that the two had issues that had been ongoing since before they were married.

The anonymous source added:

Their issues tend to get worse when they are away from each other and spend time apart. Britney has the tendency to feel like she isn't being prioritised by Sam at times. Their arguments have led them to become unhappy at times in their relationship. They are also on different pages when it comes to their future as a couple, which has been a point of contention.

Strangely, the two were seen happy and in love in June this year, while on vacation to Cabo in Mexico, with pictures surfacing of them embracing one another on a yacht. Unfortunately, this may have been the last time the two were on good terms, as pictures also surfaced that showed Asghari without his wedding ring since the beginning of July.

The end of Spears’ marriage may just be the beginning of her issues, as she is now faced with a kind of isolation that no one deserves.

Through the years, we have seen Spears fight for freedom from the clutches of her family. Through this process, we have also seen Spears distance herself from her parents, who were her conservators, and even her once-close sister Jamie Lynn Spears.

The two had a fiery social media feud early last year. During an interview with Good Morning America, the younger Spears stated that she had loved her sister and had always been her “sister’s biggest supporter”.

She added that she was only 17 years old when the conservatorship began and was not aware of any of the intricacies of the court-approved conservatorship. However, the Toxic hitmaker testified twice in court that the conservatorship was abusive, alleging that her conservators forced her to take medication, birth control and perform, which was a reality that the younger Spears was privy to.

Spears’ relationship with her sons is no better. In late 2022, her two sons, Sean Preston and Jayden James, stated that they had decided that they would not be seeing her, while in the full custody of their father, Kevin Federline.

The trauma only became worse for Spears, when earlier this month her sons moved permanently to Hawaii with their father and his wife, without saying goodbye to the pop singer first.

Sadly for Spears, the isolation may be hitting a nerve, as we have seen the singer post increasingly strange content on her social media. In various videos on her social media pages, the singer has been keeping her fans updated on her life after her conservatorship, but there is the occasional strange and often erratic post, which has been concerning to her fans for months.

In various posts from the songstress, we often see her dancing and sometimes opening up about the state of her family and life. Late last year, conspiracies began circulating from her fans that the superstar was still under duress, with Asghari becoming her new handler. Some even claimed that some of her videos used AI technology to create deep fakes of her face because she was being held hostage and even dead.

While these rumours were merely the workings of conspiracy theorists, they pointed out Spears’ stark reality and the true traumas of the life she has lived.

While her family grows more concerned for her mental health since the shocking news of her split, many of us are worried that losing one of her only support systems may cause Spears to spiral once again, making her vulnerable to the cruel hands of her family and so-called loved ones.

As Spears journeys into the unchartered territory of being alone, maybe for the first time in her life, we can only hope she continues to prioritise her mental health, happiness and heart.
