Moja Love's Uyajola 9/9 is back with another season, and it seems like the internet is finally catching onto the shady ethics of the show.

I mean, we could forget the fact that the Uyajola 9/9 host, Molemo "Jub Jub" Maarohanye, was arrested and jailed for the murder of four innocent children in a car crash in 2010. Many were more than happy to look past multiple allegations of assault, rape, and abuse that his ex-girlfriends Amanda Du Pont and Kelly Khumalo made against him, and we’ve somehow even been able to look past cheating allegations about the host, whose show ironically calls people out for cheating.

A few clips circulating the internet on Monday morning are where people were ready to draw the line.

The drama ensued when a suspecting wife called on Jub Jub for help to find out the whereabouts of her husband. When they finally located him, he was caught red-handed and naked in bed with a woman we would come to know as Sharone.

As the situation unfolded before our eyes and a heartbroken wife acted out of anger, Sharone was left naked and harassed by the Uyajola 9/9 camera team, and it seems the internet can finally agree that this is highly unacceptable.

The woman screams: “So you’re f**king her the whole night, Brandon? You left me to come here?”

“I’m your wife. What are you protecting her for?” she says, as Brandon attempts to cover his naked mistress.

Here is what the internet has to say about the latest episode:

Meanwhile, others were just happy about finally having some white people on the show:

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time people on Uyajola 9/9 were caught in the thrill of lust. In an episode earlier this month, a woman named Nomfundo sought the help of the show to catch her cheating baby daddy named Bheki. As they forced their way into the house, a sleeping Bheki was caught naked in his bed with his mistress Phumzile. Jub Jub proceeded to pull the blankets off of the man in an attempt to provoke him, but ended up exposing his naked body and his genitals to the entire country, and Jub Jub’s response? “What a big penis.”

If that wasn’t enough, the show has also often come under fire for the stereotypical tactics they have used to portray coloured people as overly aggressive and wild.

Uyajola 9/9 is a spin-off of the popular US television show called Cheaters; however, with a more raunchy and outlandish approach to the idea of cheating, Uyajola 9/9 works shamelessly on sensationalising the lives of real people.

So, what to do about Uyajola 9/9?

While cheating in itself is an unethical act, Uyajola 9/9 and Jub Jub have shown they do not actually care about helping the people who have been betrayed by their partners, and only care about the ratings they will receive after they push limits. Uyajola 9/9 has given people a warped sense of justice as they poorly become judge and jury over people's lives.

When we look back on the first season of the show, we see a different show and also a very different Jub Jub. While the show has always been rather left-side, Jub Jub was able to give guests a certain kind of space and respect, now after years on air, it seems there is only space to create an internet buzz every Monday morning.

Uyajola 9/9 needs to have a look at its ethics and politics and show the guests on their show the same level of respect they would hope to receive from others, especially since the star of their show has reportedly had his hand in many cookie jars.

The future of television seems bleak when the standard of good TV is Uyajola 9/9, but as we wait to see what comes next, we can only hope that the show will re-evaluate the way they expose and profit off from the guests they feature.
