Wouldn’t it be amazing if you could go to the beach right now without leaving your couch?

No sunburn, no sandblast and you don’t have to lather on the sunscreen.

With the level 3 lockdown restrictions extended, it is the only legal way to go to the beach if you live in one of the Covid-19 hotspot areas.

In 2017, Drive SA partnered with Google Maps Street View to capture many trails in South Africa.

Google Maps Street View takes you on a virtual walk along many of South Africa’s top beaches and trails using high tech imagery.

This allows you the freedom to walk on any beach or trail at any time – across the country. But which ones?

Here are some other beaches and beach trails you can explore:

All these beach trails, as well as 170 trails across southern Africa, can be viewed at Trail Finder.

So whether you want to take a stroll on Noordhoek Beach or to tackle the legendary Otter Trail, there are many options to suit your desire – all from the comfort of your home.

With the advancement of technology, we can make our lives a little less locked in and a lot more enjoyable.

And the street view is a great way to help you do that.
