Amapiano is becoming a global movement with different versions of the genre popping up all over the continent.

As the genre becomes more popular, debates surrounding whether it should be gatekept by South Africa or expand and evolve have come into play.

Nigerian singer and record label owner Mr Dutch (real name Bright Ukpabi) took his chance with the genre and delivered a banger with South African producer Aymos (Babili Aymos Shili) on their song Ungowami.

Ukpabi’s discography is one to behold, with features from industry heavyweights such as Burna Boy on the song E no Finish, and Reekado Banks on the song Fire Down.
