For 10 days from 7 to 17 December, the V&A Waterfront Croquet Lawn and Waterfall City Park at the Mall of Africa will come alive as princes and princesses of all ages gather under the stars to experience the magic that is Disney. Six of Disney’s most timeless stories will come under the spotlight of the warm South African sun, just to add to the fuzzy feeling that these tales invoke inside everyone who grew up watching them.
Disney will bring The Lion King 2019 remake, starring a South African actor who found international stardom decades ago, Dr John Kani as Rafiki and R&B living legend Beyonce Knowles as Nala. Other stories that will form part of Mzansi’s Disney 100th celebrations include Frozen 2 and Encanto, Disney/Pixar’s The Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory, as well as The Greatest Showman.
